Overview:

I was brought on as a Product Lead on Walmart’s Financial Services team to lead design for a new credit card in partnership with Capital One. The larger team consisted of a manager, myself and another Lead (who ran another project) and two junior designers who we would manage for specific tasks as needed in our projects. The partnership would be Walmart’s first card with an annual fee, and effectively their first membership.

We were very far along into the process when the partnership was canceled, along with my contract soon after, as COVID-19 began to take hold. The work we did for the card was eventually wrapped up into the Walmart+ membership, which was essentially the same product offering minus the Capital One partnership.
